Since her modeling days, she has gained a few pounds- oh my! What she was most concerned about, though, was the way the media reacted to the pictures and the public mocked her.
"It was such a strange meanness and rejoicing that people had when thinking that was what my body looked like. It was really hurtful to me," she tells People Magazine.
"I don't want to sit in front of you and be soap-boxy and fake and say, 'I love myself, I'm beautiful, it's great,'" says Tyra Banks, "I still feel hot, but every day is different. It's when I put on the jeans that used to fit a year ago and don't fit now and give me the muffin top, that's when I say, 'Damn!'"
Although she says she’s not the healthiest of eaters, she does eat well and take care of herself.
"I've made millions of dollars with the body I have, so where's the pain in that?" she says. "If I was in pain, I would have dieted. The pain is not there- the pain is someone printing a picture of me and saying those [terrible] things."

Tyra Banksssssssssssss, what are you smoking and drinking? What you did
responding to the fat pictures of you that were published was really
uncalled for. You go on and on, on your show helping people (or so you
think), that people should not let what other people say or think about
them bring them down. You are sending mixed messages to people. The way
you handle such an issue should speak volume of who you are. Unfortunately
we all have our breaking point irregardless how we portray ourselves to
be. Negative criticism or false information about ones self will always be
there. We should never succumb to it or even show our vulnerability, and
that’s what makes us better people. The way you responded to those
pictures just made you stoop as low as the people who designed them.
Secondly, don’t bring people on your show that have problems or behaviors
that “society” does not quite accept. Being a minority does not
necessarily mean abnormal. I am not by any means condoning those
behaviors. I am simply a viewer who wants to accept who these people are.
We are made up and influenced by a lot of different things as individuals.
We have different sources of influence such as characters, personalities,
backgrounds, peers, religion, intellect, race, morals, the list goes on.
There is no point in you doing a show to bring a guest/s down. People are
allowed to make their own decisions. I believe that you should rather show
concern than judge somebody. What makes it even worse is that the
Therapists you bring on the show seem to be on your side and have not
portrayed and professionalism at all. You need to have a balanced audience
because everybody seems to applaud when you make a judgement on somebody
or when you crush them (so to speak). Thirdly, your relationship with your
mum should not be advocated as the perfect or model mother and daughter
relationship. Like I said, people are different. We are not made up to be
the same and that should be respected. Just because your mama did not
allow you to have nude photo shoots does not mean the next mama who allows
it has a problem. There are people who actually think that your
relationship with your mum has serious flaws, but know this Tyra, your
relationship with your mum is perculliar to you and others who can identify
with it. Those who don’t, have a right to think so and should be respected
for it. I have really tried to come up with a conclusion as to what really
made you and Naom...

hmmm...im from Kenya and i think ur awesome...that said, i think you should
stop feeling all high and mighty...so you have a pretty face..ok..then
what..you've made money when your body was skinny...ok..good for you...open
a school...build an orphanage...a gym even..you have the money, 'millions
of dollars,' so you say..do something then...telling people they are
beautiful will not solve their problems.ANTM rocks though.
